Women in Golf Charter

Alison and Amie both come from office-based jobs, so to enjoy the outdoors is important to them. With their husbands both playing golf, it was in the back of their minds that they would like to give it a go. They took the opportunity to join Spalding Golf Club ladies group lessons, which is a great way to begin and where they met a number of new friends. Alison and Amie both agreed they wanted to become members of the club and be involved with the lady’s section. After two years of group and individual lessons they are proud to have won many ladies and mixed singles, pairs and group competitions. Their biggest achievement being winners of the final of the Ping 4BBB competition played at Thonock Park.

Spalding Golf Club has a strong ladies section with in excess of 100 women with playing handicaps across all ages. We are delighted to welcome players of all abilities to join our section whatever their skill level. As well as our main season competitions, we also run fun competitions throughout the season. So, if you want to join in then it’s golf all year long!
Complete beginners are welcomed too, with taster sessions & group coaching classes held in throughout the year with England Golf’s Women on Par scheme providing a fun competition as a celebration in concluding the course, our last coaching course saw 7 out of 12 ladies join as members, with several winning competitions a year later!!
We have strong ladies A & B teams involved in league matches, plus annual entries into national knockout competitions such as the Annodata and The Taskers Interclub, which we are the proud winners of in 2023!

We are delighted to have received confirmation  that we have been awarded our Women In Golf Charter status by England Golf and the R&A . Spalding Golf Club are passionate about including and encouraging more ladies and girls to participate in the game of golf and have set out a list of commitments to ensure this happens.

The charter is designed to develop a more inclusive culture within golf, to encourage increased participation from women and girls and to allow them to reach their full potential as golfers or working in the golf industry.

We have a strong ladies section at our club, with an eclectic range of abilities and ages. This means that we are in the best place to welcome more ladies and girls to our club and our 'golfing buddies' are here to help every step of the way, whether it be a beginner, or a new member coming back into golf after a break.
